Former Head of Transportation Security Administration Advising Remote Service Leader on Homeland Security Market Efforts

Questra Corporation, the leader in Intelligent Device Management (IDM), announced that Admiral David M. Stone has joined the company's Board of Advisors. The former Assistant Secretary of Homeland Security for the Transportation Security Administration (TSA) is advising Questra on the company's ongoing efforts to enable remote service capabilities on equipment in the homeland security market.

Complex security devices, such as 3-D holographic body scanners, ion mobility spectrometers for detecting explosives residue, computer tomography x-ray scanners, and digital surveillance systems, are designed to secure points of entry including airports, border crossings, government buildings, seaports, and transit stations. The proliferation of these devices has created a mandate for remote service capabilities including continuous and proactive monitoring, diagnostics, reporting, and configuration management.

"Today, the security of all points of entry is of utmost importance if we are to ensure the integrity of our country and the safety of our citizens," said Admiral Stone. "Based on my operational experience both within the Department of Defense as well as the Department of Homeland Security, I believe that new technologies have an absolutely critical role to play in our ongoing security efforts. I certainly see the value of Questra's remote service solution in helping build reliable, efficient, and effective security networks that will be vital to the success of our nation's overall security strategy."

Admiral Stone has more than 30 years of experience in national security, most recently as head of the TSA. In this position, he was responsible for the security of the entire U.S. transportation system, which includes airports and aviation, highways, maritime ports and shipping, railways, and other forms of transit, as well as gas, oil, and water pipelines. Prior to being appointed Assistant Secretary of Homeland Security, Admiral Stone was the TSA's first Federal Security Director at Los Angeles International Airport. He is a 28-year career naval officer who served with great distinction in a variety of leadership roles.
